Pasar Payang Closed to Traffic

Some days ago I went to KT town for some fruits at Pasar Payang. That's when all traffic hell break loose. Almost all roads leading to Pasar Payang was closed. Luckily when I first came to KT, I made sure that I get to know all roads leading to all major landmarks. Just in case a friend or relative got lost in KT, I can guide them.

After trying all the roads known to me, I finally managed to get to Pasar Payang. Of all the roads leading there, only this one was not closed. Even then, I have to walk quite a distance to get to the fruit stalls. I don't mind walking.

Talking to the fruit sellers, they say that this is all due to the Monsoon Cup. They also complained to me that their sales were affected because most people will just go elsewhere when they encounter the first "no entry" roadsign.

So, how do they say that this Monsoon Cup is bringing in more people and more money? Well, one thing I know, the event organiser is making tonnes of money using services of local authorities, government agencies and even contractors for free.

P/S: I wanted to post some photos but I was not allowed to go into the event area. It was guarded by our very own PDRM (for free??). If I want to go in, I need to pay RM1500. Any sponsors? ;-)
